Press & Media
We love the press!
Maybe we’re egotistical, maybe we love hearing journalists say the phrase “Exploding Kittens vending machine experience” or maybe we just really need some serious search engine optimization help. (Don’t google image search Burning Cat...yet).
However, Press Passes will not be approved for outlets created with the sole intent of obtaining free admission. If you’ve got a website that hasn’t been updated in six months, a blog that exists only to post your convention reviews or a YouTube channel with seven views, we’re sorry, but you’re not going to be approved. 😬
Please only have one member of your media outlet apply for press passes. Press must register with [email protected] prior to the event as there will be NO onsite press registration. Press must submit verification materials. A press pass does not guarantee interviews. You may not transfer or sell a Burning Cat press pass. A complimentary press pass does not allow for plus-ones, guests, or child badges.
The issuance of a press pass is at the sole discretion of Burning Cat. Please be respectful to all attendees. A press pass is provided as a courtesy to cover our conventions. Burning Cat/Exploding Kittens does not tolerate coverage that includes stunt type events, ambush interviewing, or any sort of action that could make any of our attendees feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
Members of the press that would like to videotape, film, and/or record any matter that will be used for commercial purposes (non-news) must first obtain written permission from Burning Cat and any other participants being recorded. Live streaming and recording at Burning Cat, including posting more than 15 minutes of an event, is not permitted without prior consent from Burning Cat. To request the appropriate consents, please email [email protected] with detailed information regarding the interest to record at Burning Cat.
